
Directions for: Date, Apple and Red Onion Chutney
Ingredients
cup white vinegar
cup water
1 cup pitted dates, finely chopped
1 red onion, halved and thinly sliced
2 Tbsp liquid honey
2 tsp tandoori masala powder
2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 pinch cloves
1 Spartan apple, peeled, cored and diced
Directions
1. Place all ingredients except the apple in a large pan and bring to a simmer on medium-high heat.
2. Reduce to medium heat and let cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Transfer half of mixture to a blender, pure until very smooth and return to pan.
4. Stir in diced apple and continue to cook until the apple is tender, approximately 6-8 minutes.
5. Transfer to a container, let cool, cover until needed.
6. Will keep in the fridge for up to 1 week.
